As I’m sure you all already know (just a hunch!), we are passionate about all things wood.
Wood is such a fabulous, tactile material that is not only wonderful to work with, but it’s beauty continues to develop as it grows and even after its death.
Wipe those tears away, there is absolutely no reason to be sad, especially with the wood we use at Harty’s, rescued from decaying at the bottom of a garden, to cut-offs, excess pieces, old shelving, flooring and grand staircases!
You name it we’ve rescued it!
We are a proud, single use plastic free business, and we all know the importance of reducing waste and recycling as much as we can in today’s world and here at Harty’s this is at the forefront of our business.
Every one of our products used to be something else, and we can tell you exactly what that was!
We have partnered up with a flooring specialist company based in Bonny Scotland. Where they used to throw away the solid wood floors that they pulled up and discard the off cuts, we now take them off their hands! We mainly get sections of beech, walnut and oak quality floorboards and this is what the majority of our most popular products are made from. Saving landfill, time and making amazing things that now reside in the homes of people all over the UK.
This is what we do and WE LOVE IT!
Our products go from Zeros to heroes! We are always trying to come up with creative ways to showcase the fabulous wood that we get and 2020 is no exception!
We have recently launched our fabulous Pin Badges that are made from old solid beech floorboards from school halls, gyms and sports halls!
Just look at them now!
When old, discarded pieces of wood can be turned into funky, useful products and gifts instead of adding to our waste and landfill problem, then in my book that’s a winning combo every day of the week!
Thank you for reading and as always, your comments are welcome,
Helena.
